Sarah Weilant is a policy researcher at RAND who works to affect change in organizations, across systems, and in communities, addressing the factors that drive national security, economic, and community stability. Her research supports military, government and nongovernmental organizations in improving their organizations' strategies, policies, plans, and investments. Her portfolio includes identifying and addressing mission needs (e.g. for U.S. Coast Guard icebreaking,) securing the maritime domain, preventing violent extremism, reducing sexual assault and harassment and suicidal ideation, and enhancing community well-being. Weilant uses qualitative methods to design conceptual frameworks, develop metrics, conduct workshops, and recommend feasible solutions to complex and evolving challenges. She holds an M.P.P. from American University.
