John Adams, professor of health systems science in the Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine, will will discuss three high-leverage areas where greater statistical contributions are most needed.
About the Seminar
The learning health care system is a conceptual model (IoM 2007) where learnings from internal data and experience are systematically combined with external evidence, and that knowledge is put into practice. Data analysis and statistical thinking are crucial for this process. In this talk Adams will discuss three high-leverage areas where greater statistical contributions are most needed. These areas are: the design and analysis of randomized interventions, capitalizing on natural experiments, and modeling the needs and care of complex patients.
About the Speaker
John Adams is a professor of health systems science in the Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine. His work links economic and social issues to population health, allowing the quality of health care to be measured and quantified within different circumstances and populations.
