Medicare

Medicare

Medicare is a U.S. health insurance program for people age 65 or older and younger people with disabilities. RAND examines Medicare's effectiveness, costs, quality of care, and access to care. Our studies inform policymakers by analyzing trends, evaluating policy changes, and identifying disparities to improve the Medicare system for all beneficiaries.
