Miriam Matthews is a senior behavioral and social scientist whose work examines harmful behaviors, organizational risk, and political psychology in national security contexts. She focuses on sexual assault and harassment prevention and response, hazing and workplace bullying, and suicide risk, generating analytically rigorous, decision-relevant insights for senior leaders.

She has also studied malign information and subversive influence, the behavioral effects of threat, and the evolving knowledge and skill demands of U.S. military personnel. Her research integrates large-scale quantitative data, qualitative methods, and advanced text analysis to address complex institutional challenges.

Matthews earned her Ph.D. in social psychology from Claremont Graduate University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship for the University of Oxford.
