Jung-Ju Lee is an economic security research specialist at RAND. Her research covers the economic and industrial dimensions of defense and national security intersecting high-technology industries. She conducts analysis for RAND's Economic Strategy & Operations Unit, DARPA, and USINDOPACOM HQ, where she was forward-deployed as an economic advisor to the J00. She has supported the War and Commerce Departments with technical analysis on technology supply chains and space deterrence strategy.

Prior to joining RAND, Lee was director of the defense panel at the Special Competitive Studies Project, analyzing defense technology development and the application of artificial intelligence and human-machine teaming in military operations in the Indo-Pacific. In the past, she worked on strategic trade and technology security issues related to export controls and global supply chains at the Semiconductor Industry Association. She has conducted research on technology and national security analysis at SoftBank's semiconductor firm Arm, the Johns Hopkins Foreign Policy Institute, the Center for Strategic & International Studies, and the National Defense University.

Lee has a B.A. in government and Asian studies from Cornell University, and an M.A. in international economics and international relations from the Johns Hopkins University, Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies.
