Ben Kucinski

Vice President, Finance

Ben Kucinski is vice president, Finance at RAND. He oversees financial reporting and accounting, contracts and grants, procurement, billing, treasury, and risk management.

He previously served as director, Corporate Planning and Analysis at RAND, where he oversaw business analysis to support corporate decisionmaking involving strategy, major investments, internal operations, and market development. His team managed the business planning process, developed enterprise-wide metrics and goals, analyzed performance throughout the year, and provided related recommendations to senior leadership.

Kucinski began his career at RAND in 2012 as a member of the Financial Management team within Finance, focusing on financial planning and analysis and partnering closely with several of RAND's research divisions.

Prior to joining RAND, he spent a decade as an economic consultant, leading analyses and providing strategic advice and expert services to attorneys, corporations, and government agencies involved in complex business litigation. His areas of focus included valuation, forecasting, technical GAAP, cost accounting, financial statement analysis, solvency, and lost profits calculations.

Kucinski holds an M.B.A. from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and an A.B. in economics from Stanford University.
