Stephanie Brooks Holliday

Stephanie Brooks Holliday (she/her) is associate director of the Behavioral and Policy Sciences department, a senior behavioral scientist and clinical psychologist, and a professor of policy analysis at the RAND School of Public Policy. Her research has spanned a range of topics. She leads a portfolio of work focused on the criminal and juvenile justice system. This work has included a focus on reentry programs designed to improve community reintegration following incarceration; court diversion programs; and pre-arrest diversion opportunities. She also conducts research relevant to community-based crisis and behavioral health services, including a focus on 988 and innovative treatment models. Brooks Holliday's other portfolio of work has focused on military and veteran health, mental health, and well-being. This includes research to examine health-related behaviors among active-duty service members, an examination of the role of behavioral health technicians as care extenders in the military health system, and a study focused on the role of non-commissioned officers in preventing suicide in the Army. Brooks Holliday completed her graduate training at Drexel University, where she earned her degree in clinical psychology with a focus on forensic psychology. Brooks Holliday completed her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the Washington D.C. VA Medical Center, where she specialized in neuropsychology.
