Hanna Hodgetts

Research Assistant

Hanna Hodgetts is a research assistant at RAND Europe on the Defence, Security and Justice Team. Her primary research interests include Russian foreign policy, EU/NATO defence policy, hybrid warfare, FIMI (disinformation), nuclear deterrence and intersections of religion and violence.

Prior to RAND, she worked as a Blue Book trainee at the European Commission (DG ENEST) on ties between EU and Eastern Partnership countries. She also completed internships at IOM Moldova, working on human trafficking and gender-based violence, and the Dutch newspaper Trouw, where she covered political developments in the UK, Scandinavia and Russia.

Hanna holds an M.Phil. in Russian and East European studies from the University of Oxford and a B.A. in Russian and French from UCL.
