Sy Doan

Policy Researcher; Professor of Policy Analysis, RAND School of Public Policy

Sy Doan is a policy researcher at RAND and a professor of policy analysis at the RAND School of Public Policy. His research uses quantitative methods to study K–12 education policy, with current work on the K-12 educator workforce, use of K-12 instructional materials, and state capacity for implementing K-12 education policy. He works extensively with the American Educator Panels, where he conducts research on issues facing K–12 educators and students using the American Instructional Resources Survey and the State of the American Teacher Surveys. Prior to joining RAND, he earned his Ph.D. in education leadership and policy at Vanderbilt University.
