Jessica Dawney

Senior Analyst

Jessica Dawney (she/her) is a senior analyst at RAND Europe. Working primarily in the area of health and wellbeing, her research interests include mental health, the social determinants of health, medical and health ethics, and eating disorders.

Since joining RAND Europe, she has worked on and contributed to a wide range of projects. These include a project on the ethical issues for newborn whole genome sequencing, a landscape review of epidemic preparedness research and innovation, a programme evaluation of an innovation adoption programme, and a project on target product profiles for oncology diagnostics. As part of her work, Dawney also manages the Wellbeing Impact Study of High-Speed 2, a 10-year study of the impact of the HS2 rail development on the mental health and wellbeing of surrounding communities (NIHR132761). 

Before joining RAND, Dawney completed her Master of Public Health at the University of York. Her thesis explored use and experiences of alternative therapies, such as dance movement therapy and dance movement psychotherapy, for the treatment of eating disorders. She holds a B.A. (Hons) in sociology, also from the University of York.
