Researchers from RAND and outside partners brought together big-picture, future-focused thinkers and influencers to understand the broad future of wildland fire and how seemingly disparate parts of society might interact with it. More specifically, the workshop was intended to consider the future of three systems: utilities, health and health care, and the built environment in the face of increasingly frequent and harmful wildfires.
Funding for this convening was provided by a generous gift from Peter and Emily Luchetti. This research was conducted in the Community Health and Environmental Policy Program within RAND Social and Economic Well-Being.
